Mobidiag develops infectious disease diagnostics at the Life Science Center
Mobidiag has significantly expanded its operations and enlarged its premises at the Life Science Center. Our company specializes in molecular diagnostics, offering solutions for diagnosing infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance, including the most timely COVID-19 testing. In 2013, we moved into a completely new phase of growth. We moved to the Life Science Center, where we knew we would find suitable facilities for our product development – and unlike other office buildings, also cleanrooms for our laboratory work. As our operations have expanded, we have been able to flexibly obtain the necessary additional space.
The Keilaniemi area with its rapidly growing companies has added credibility to our company throughout the growth years. The respect of our international partners for the area has shown that we have chosen the right place.
COVID-19 tests have accelerated our growth
I can proudly say that Mobidiag is a significant player in Finland. From the beginning, our product development has been based on the ease of use of the solutions, the scalability of production, and cost-effectiveness. At the onset of the global pandemic, we were able to react immediately by bringing to the market easy and quick coronavirus tests for our existing device platforms. Our strategic decision during the pandemic has been that Mobidiag has focused on producing tests and equipment and ensuring their availability in its operating countries in Finland, France, Sweden, and England.
Office rooms for administration and cleanrooms for product development
The Life Science Center has provided growth space for Mobidiag’s changing space needs. Currently, about 160 people work for us in Espoo’s Keilaniemi. We have moved office spaces reserved for administration, sales, and marketing under the product development and production to Building E. Our rapidly expanding product development and production have been able to grow in Building A. We have built spaces within spaces – practically cleanrooms for production and laboratory functions. The cooperation between different functions of our company is facilitated by walkways between buildings. Through these, there is easy access and availability to the building’s services as well.
The office building has good infrastructure. We can flexibly use large conference rooms. We traditionally hold the company meeting in the building’s auditorium. We also use the sauna section with catering services for meetings. Our staff enjoy the office building’s own cafeteria, gym, and auxiliary services. I personally favor the office building’s dentist and barber amid daily rushes.
For a high-tech company like ours, the Life Science Center in Keilaniemi is the top spot. We appreciate the building’s services as well as good transport connections, for example to the airport. We are pleased to be part of the high-technology expertise concentrated in Espoo.
